My name is Julia Fionda. I am a professionally certified Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Life Coach. When you are finding things difficult, my counselling offers the opportunity for you to explore whatever is on your mind.

That’s why I set up the Lighthouse Counselling Centre: to offer my clients a little beacon of light that helps them navigate through the darkness.

Why counselling?

It can be easy to feel overwhelmed and out of control in your life. From time to time, we all experience feelings of stress, sadness, anger and guilt as we navigate through different life challenges, but sometimes we find it just a little bit harder to cope than we are normally used to.

Whether it’s anxiety, depression, relationship issues, work-related stress, bereavement, illness or any other significant life changes, sometimes you reach a point where everything feels a bit too much and you don’t have anyone to turn to. Just like our physical health, sometimes to move forward we need to pause the brakes and focus on our recovery.

It’s always difficult to recognise when you need a little extra help, but I want to congratulate you on taking the most important first step: reaching out for support.

My approach

My approach to counselling is integrative, drawing on a range of different therapeutic techniques, including person-centred therapy, Gestalt, neuro-linguistic programming, and life coaching. I vary my approach based on each client’s needs because the human mind is not one-size-fits-all. From my experience as a counsellor, I have learned that every client faces their own unique set of challenges and I believe taking a personalised approach is the best way to overcome these obstacles.

In my sessions, I strive to create a safe, judgement-free environment for you to explore your feelings and reach a deeper understanding of what may be concerning you. By guiding you on this journey of self-awareness, you will be able to recognise not just what you’re feeling, but also why it is you are feeling this way. From here, we can work together to build your resilience, improve your self-esteem and change your behaviour in a positive way.
